TrialsNet at the 6G IA & 5G ACIA Webinar on 5G/6G for Industry and Manufacturing
On May 19th, Marco Gramaglia, Professor at UC3M and main researcher for the institution in the TrialsNet project, participated in the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA) and 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) webinar: “5G and 6G Industry/Manufacturing Trials and Pilots (T&Ps) – Highlights, Lessons Learnt, ‘5G/6G Empowerment’ and ‘Pain Points’”.
The webinar, supported by the SNS CO OP project, brought together experts from both the 5G and 6G communities to discuss key achievements and challenges in applying next-generation mobile technology to industrial and manufacturing settings. A recording of the event is available here.
The event featured presentations on 5G-ACIA and 6G-IA initiatives, including the Vertical Engagement Tracker (VET) and Testbed Brochures. A dedicated session highlighted specific 5G/6G Industry/Manufacturing Trials & Pilots (T&Ps), showcasing real-world applications and results.
Marco Gramaglia contributed to a panel discussion focusing on the “5G / 6G Empowerment” – the unique benefits and value brought by 5G Advanced and 6G that previous generations couldn’t provide – and the “Pain Points” encountered in Industry/Manufacturing T&Ps. As TrialsNet WP2 “Platform and Network Solutions” Leader, Marco shared valuable insights from the TrialsNet project.
The webinar provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration between the 5G and 6G communities, paving the way for further advancements in the application of these technologies in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
