Role

TEI acts as the Project Coordinator and contributes to the definition and deployment of the TrialsNet Platform, as well as participating in validation and dissemination activities. Ericsson Research (ER) in Pisa has the task leadership of the “Smart ambulance” use case and contributes to the “Remote proctoring” use case. ER also leads the deployment of a new 5G radio network, at the CNR campus in Pisa, dedicated to the development and demonstration of use cases. Genoa R&D team contributes to the “Adaptive Control of Hannes Prosthetic Device” use case with a private 5G laboratory.

The company’s portfolio of Ericsson spans the business areas Networks, Cloud Software and Services, Enterprise Wireless Solutions, and Technologies and New Businesses. R&D of TEI accounts for about 600 employees in Italy, geographically located at the operational sites of Genoa, Pisa (Ericsson Research labs), and Pagani. The areas of R&D in which the TEI sites are engaged are: Network Management Systems, Network Functions, Analytics and Cloud, Transport Optical Networks, Advanced Research and Innovation. Partnerships with academic excellences and vertical actors are also qualyfing characteristics of TEI.
